Online Tours at the Museum of the Southwest

Can't visit the Museum in person? We can help!  The Museum of the Southwest has made two of our most popular Art Museum tours available online.   Tours can be accessed through Seesaw or Google Classroom and can be made available upon request.  Seesaw is our preferred platform because our education staff can see your students' and families' responses to each section of the tour and can provide comments and feedback.  You do not have to already have a Seesaw account to access the content.

To access our online tours, please complete the form below and we will get back to you with your access information.  Both platforms work well with gmail addresses if available, but they are not necessary.

What is Seesaw?

Seesaw is an online platform for student engagement. Teachers can empower students to create, reflect, share, and collaborate. Students “show what they know” using photos, videos, drawings, text, PDFs, and links.

When students "show what they know", Museum staff can respond and provide feedback.

How will my students or family access Seesaw?

We will set up an access code for your family or students using the email address you provide in your request form.  All of your family members or students can access the activities using this information, however the responses will all be recorded under the same account. Each individual that accesses the activities through your email address would need to respond to the activities by saying that they want to submit another response.

Alternatively, you can provide individual email addresses for each student or family member to have their own access to the activities so that their responses will be tracked separately.  Their email addresses will not be shared with any other organizations or used for any other Museum communication, unless requested by the individual.

If your district is using Seesaw or if you have your own free teacher account, we can share the activities with you to add to your class assignments so that you can see the responses and provide feedback.

How do I access Seesaw?

The Seesaw  Family app is available on iOS, Android, and Kindle Fire devices. You can also use Seesaw on the web using a computer or Chromebook via a Chrome, Firefox, or Edge browser.

Why do you have a Google Classroom option?

We have a Google Classroom version of the tours that can be used with districts who are learning online with Google Classroom.

Tours are presented in Google Slides with some interactive options through the Pear Deck add on.

Funding has been provided by Humanities Texas and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the federal CARES Act. Any views, finding, conclusions, or recommendations expressed in our online tours do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Most tours and programs take place during the hours that the Museum is open to the public.  Please come by and visit us with your friends and family!
